3 different diagrams of our biome structure.
3 earth spheres, cycling of abiotic matter, and the flow of energy.
Geosphere- Is basically some type of rock or soil based.
Hydrosphere- Is any type water in the environment. Atmosphere- Is air that's in the sky which helps us breathe. Biosphere- Any type of plant life that is in the environment. |
Carbon Cycle- The carbon cycle is used in our bio-dome when all living things are made of carbon. Carbon is also a part of the ocean, air, and even rocks.
Water Cycle- The water cycle is basically a cycle going from a water source which evaporates and goes into the atmosphere and after it goes through that phase, it precipitate and that makes groundwater. Which goes back into the water source. In our dome we have a pond for one of our environments |
Conduction- the process by which heat or electricity is directly transmitted through a substance when there is a difference of temperature or of electrical potential between adjoining regions, without movement of the material.
An example of conduction is using a metal rod to roast marshmallows on an open fire and feeling the heat rise through the rod from the fire to your hand. Convection- the movement caused within a fluid by the tendency of hotter and therefore less dense material to rise, and colder, denser material to sink under the influence of gravity, which consequently results in transfer of heat. An example of convection is the moving of liquid. Radiation- the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particles, esp. high-energy particles that cause ionization. the act or process of radiating; specify., the process in which energy in the form of rays of light, heat, etc. is sent out through space from atoms and molecules as they undergo internal change |
