- In our observational study we will be recording the difference in dissolved oxygen using different water sources.
- Ha: The plant growing in the Lake will have more dissolved oxygen than the plant growing in the bottled water.
Hø: The plant growing in these different water sources will not be be affected and will grow normally with no change in the dissolved oxygen.

PROCEDURES
1. In each cup, measure 119.5 grams of rocks to be placed at the bottom of each plastic cup. 2. Place an elodea plant in each cup. Make sure it the bottom of the plant is buried as well as having the top covered by water. Pour soil into the cups and have enough to cover the roots of the elodea plants. 3. Label the cups depending on what water will be poured inside. “Pond 1, Fresh 1.” 4. Pour enough lake water to fill up over the plants in those 4 cups. The available measurement would probably be around 417.5 mL. 5. Wait 24 hours for dissolved oxygen to be available. 6. Use Vernier Dissolved Oxygen Probe to measure the amount, the higher the number, the more oxygen being dissolved. After collecting data, repeat the experiment for a more solid experiment.
